Let’s start at the beginning …

My name is Zaineb and I’m an Iraqi-Scot based in Denmark.

Living between Glasgow and Abu Dhabi my whole life, I moved to Copenhagen in 2017 after falling in love with the city during a visit the previous winter.

Having started my career in Abu Dhabi as a journalist with the region’s premier English-language paper, The National, I moved into copywriting in 2018, working at Kunde & Co before going freelance in the summer of 2022.

Career wise, I’m a writer, editor, and proofreader with more than 15 years’ experience. Outside of work, I spend a lot of my free time volunteering with Groent Marked, the city’s first weekly local farmers market, where I edit the monthly newsletter and work as a market coordinator.

The rest of my time is spent with friends, learning how to grow fruit and veg at my little allotment in Nørrebro, and trying to walk every street in this city in search of great graffiti.
